Decreases in Chinese and Singapore Stocks
China's Shanghai Composite Index (SHCOMP) went down by 0.6% to reach 3,064.07, while the FTSE Straits Times Index (STI) of Singapore stocks gained 0.3% to 3,188.95.
South Korean and Australian Stocks Face Decline
The KOSPI Composite Index (180721) of South Korean stocks declined by 0.7% to 2,519.14, and the S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index (XJO) of Australian stocks dropped by 0.9% to 7,115.20.
Semiconductors Companies Decrease in Value
Among the constituents of the Nikkei 225 Index, Advantest Corp (6857), a semiconductors company, saw the largest decrease as its shares dropped by 10.0%. Tokyo Electron (8035) and SCREEN Holdings (7735), two other semiconductors firms, weakened by 5.9% and 3.4%, respectively.
Diversified Holding Companies See Increase in Value
In Japan, IHI Corp (7013), a diversified holding companies company, saw the largest increase as its shares added 2.0%.
Rise in Shares of Chemicals and Non-Ferrous Metals Firms
Shares of Kuraray Co Ltd (3405), a chemicals firm, and Mitsui Mining & Smelting (5706), a non-ferrous metals company, rose by 1.7% and 1.4%, respectively.
Decrease in Gas Utilities Company Shares
Among the constituents of the Hang Seng Index, ENN Energy Holdings (2688), a gas utilities company, saw the largest decrease in Hong Kong as its shares tumbled by 16.2% on Friday.
Drops in Shares of Online Service Providers and Real Estate Services/Transactions Firms
Shares of Netease (9999), an online service providers firm, and New World Development (17), a real estate services/transactions company, dropped by 6.7% and 5.8%, respectively.
Increase in Shares of Property Managers Company
In Hong Kong, Country Garden Svcs (6098), a property managers company, saw the largest increase on Friday as its shares gained 5.3%.
Rise in Shares of Real Estate Services/Transactions and Motor Vehicle Dealing Firms
Shares of Country Garden Holdings (2007), a real estate services/transactions firm, and Zhongsheng Group Holdings (881), a motor vehicle dealing company, increased by 5.2% and 2.8%, respectively.
